Andrew Richmond The Kibera Slum Foundation was founded by Andrew Richmond after a volunteering trip to Kibera in the Summer of 2006. During this trip, Andrew witnessed the absolute poverty in which most Kibera residents live, and he was appalled by the lack of international assistance found in the slum. Because of this, Andrew made a commitment to the people of Kibera that he would return to the slum and help provide for some of the most basic needs of the community, and also work to develop creative solutions to the economic and logistical problems that the slum faces.
