Our mission is to improve the living conditions of the Kibera Slums by building new toilet facilities & clean-water tanks, improving the drainage systems, and developing sustainable economic and educational opportunities that residents can use to support themselves. This is a big task, and we need your help! There are several ways you can help us achieve our goals!
Our first
goal is to raise $10,000 by September 2007, when we will be returning to Kibera to begin community improvement projects. This amount will finance the building of several toilet facilities with water
tanks, and will allow construction of over 200 meters of concrete drainage lines. All materials
will be secured locally, and labor will consist of Kibera residents. This
means the money you contribute will stay in the slum! This is only the beginning: upon successful completion of these projects, kSlum will produce a documentary video of the work done, in order to raise more awareness and funds for Kibera!
